The first day I had my cold was the worst and I stayed home...
It was also the first day I had to go get the older kid from school and I was so nervous that, because of my cold, I would fall asleep and miss the time to leave and go get him.
Imagine me sitting in bed with a pile of Kleenex, watching the clock, waiting to go get my little boy from school, too scared to go to sleep and too sick to stay awake.
I have a whole new respect for my mother and for mother's everywhere.
You are my heroes.
I left the toddler in Pre-school that day, I just couldn't do it. Is that wrong?
I dream in color, write poetry, talk about God, parent kids and finally wonder about it all

My Mom will be here tomorrow!!!!!!!!!
Not wrong at all. The toddler probably had a blast in preschool.
ReplyDeleteYou must get past that nasty cold, so be grateful the preschool was available to let the little one stay all day.
::big ol' hug to the new mommy::

I am sorry you are not feeling well, again. Don't feel bad at all about leaving the little one in preschool (this, by the way, is a typical new mommy reaction). I am sure he LOVED his time there, although I am sure he missed you too. It is good for them to get out, have some soical interaction, and every mom needs a break once in a while. I hope you get to feeling better real soon. Please take care. Jaime
ReplyDeleteOh Sweetie, your decision to leave the little one was excellent! Don't you know that God invented preschools to give Mom's a little bit of respit when needed? And you needed a break.
ReplyDeleteLove and miss you,
Mom
Welcome to motherhood! Don't you just looooove the thousand-and-one questions we torment ourselves with? Comes with territory. Every day is a new day and chance to do better, be better. Don't look behind too much. Look ahead. Glad to see your post!
ReplyDeleteDo not every second guess yourself!!! Your insticts will almost always be right(99.9%)... Just look at your role model "your Mom"
ReplyDeleteTime out is not just a word for children... It's also a word for Moms...we use it for some R&R, if we're sick or just need some ME time... it make you more focused and gives you perspective...to be the best Mom you can be! Trust me. your on the right path. No guilt.
xoxoxo
ps, get well! Good wishes sent your way...

ROLLING.................ah NO!
ReplyDeleteIn a few months you will have mastered your conscience. It comes as natural as eating brownies!
You are so precious LOL!
Love you
TJ
of course not...you are doing just great...i'm sorry you are sick but it is a bit amusing to imagine you in bed watching the clock...welcome to parenthood where all the weirdest and most interesting things happen while we are often wondering was i right to..? Remember that you need to rest to get better, you need to be healthy for you and your family. Maybe that helps in making you second guess what was a right decision...You are doing great and those kids are Blessed to be with you guys...Enjoy and trust your instincts. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI can just picture you lying in bed miserable, worrying, watching the clock. Many hugs to you, dear one. Your baby enjoyed his time at preschool. Don't sweat it! Just take care of yourself. If your son were older, he would say, "What a no brainer. Of course I'd rather you stay home and take care of yourself. I am totaly cool with that, and this preschool is pretty cool too. Thanks, Mom" Hang in there, and get well soon!
ReplyDeletenope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't blame you one bit. Stay under the covers, honey!
ReplyDeleteHi dear Christina! I have missed you too. You did right because you need your strenght and babies needs theirs... I always say babies because I am a mother hen in disguise... Same with me last week. I was very sick and achy - no, I did not want my kiddies to catch that so they were better off in daycare and me in bed. It is wonderful when you go get your child/ children...
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of you lately... take care!
Happy Mommyhood!
Ann Marie
That's what I did! Now that you have kids, the germs will be running rampant. "Airborn" works for me if I'm on a plane or around people who are sick. Kids are carriers, so stock up!
