Quickie!!!

Well, the walk was very fun as usual and I finally was able to meet my blogger friend Jamie! This year I joined her team instead of heading up my own and from now on I think that is the way I will go...I loved being on her team and she is so very gracious. Jamie even gave me a goody bag for my walk which included couple of hardback books. (I have almost completely read Teri Garr's book on the pot. Yes, I read on the pot I have six kids.) What a great time and the river was nice; we must have the best walk site in the nation!

My goal was $250 and thanks to some very lovely people I reached $195 on-line and $25 in a check for a total of...$220!!

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

I made it the whole walk but because it was warm (for these parts) I was not entirely sure that I was going to. I also used my sweet new walking stick in the photo above and boy does it attract attention, more than I like in real life. When we were leaving, after a full morning of discussing the walking stick and its' origins, some nice old lady said: "Nice walking stick." I replied: "Thank you."

Under my breath, walking away, I was uttering about geez isn't it a lovely damn stick, wouldn't it feel good crammed down your throat? Grumble, grumble, grumble.

My eldest child snickered, hit me hard and then told me to shut up. Man some people with MS get really ugly when they are tired...

MS Walk looms on and still need dough!

So I hit the ladies at church up today for sponsorship for my walk, I figured "why not?" I asked them to at least pray for me as I do the walk because half way threw each year I am never certain that I will finish it. Having completely numb feet is not a blessing.

At all.

Walking on numb feet is like imagining walking on your feet after they have been shot full of nova cane. Sounds yucky huh?

And dangerous.

My Mom pledged me right before the cruise so I have lots of ground to cover if I am going to make any dent in my goal....funny how the people I know do not ever want to give towards a cure for this illness but they will give towards March of Dimes or other worthy causes, even though they don't know anyone who has used the services of March of Dimes.

I have used the MS Lifelines services more than once and thus feel like as long as I CAN walk, I will walk. Please consider pledging me here ~~~~> link.

I am Walking for MS again

This year I have decided not to head up my own team (Walk On) and joined the team of my friend Jamie (a fellow blogger and MSer)...because, well because she invited me too.

Because I have five kids now.

Because I head up enough stuff.

Because I just want to do the MS Walk this year, not be the Capitan, like I have been every year since I was told those infamous words, "You have MS."

We did not walk last year because my Mom was in town and it just did not work out...but this year we will walk and I will mention it regularly...xxoo

Everyone has to have a cause!! LMAO

Click the title to go to my new team's official website and my personal page...as soon as I can figure out how to get the widget code to put it on my blog I will. Meanwhile, here is my first shameless plug for those pledge requests from my loved ones, the year before we raised $750 dollars so I know we can do this together.

My personal page is here ~~~> click.

Remember the money goes right to the MS site if you do it on-line and never to the Walker...and it is tax deductible.

PS: I am not nearly this brave when it come to my shots, I mean the man didn't even flinch.

Ladybugs

this is my hand....

notice the one with lots of spots???

A few days ago we had the privilege of chasing ladybugs, which of course isn't much of a chase. It is more of a causal event like drinking tea on a porch and watching the sun set, calming and nice.

Doing things like this has always been second nature for me, even as a small child I remember talking all the other small children into catching tad poles because we would be able to raise frogs from them. The other kids were not sure if they could trust me or not but by golly clomping around in the stream sounded like good fun anyway.

We caught the tad poles in paper cups and raised them into frogs in an old claw foot bathtub in the yard.

The was dirt, plants and an old cake pan full of water. When the frogs got big enough we covered the tub with screening to keep them in and to keep the stray cats out...I do not know what ever happened to the frogs, I moved back in with my Mom.

Chasing ladybugs makes me feel like a little girl again...that and the musical laughter in the air as it was being done. I love springtime and am awaiting the butterflies.

xxoo

PS: Go watch this Utube about Patrick and Patti! Really, since we didn't do the MS walk this year I did not talk it up like I usually do. I could not do it because on the Saturday it was held I had a T-ball game and a baseball game to go to....And a birthday party to throw.

Anyway, go watch this, it is funny and sweet.
