A fire burns inside
consumes secret things
hidden from self
suffering the mercy

leading to authenticity
reveals a bountiful humanity

A complex poem, Christina. My poetic intuition senses many varied impressions and ideas. The main thing that I consider is the Kantian view of the universe, which states, in essence, that the way the human mind is ordered within is projected by humans to the universe outside. In other words, the universe is designed by a more superior intellect than our own, and we will never understand the universe because we cannot actually view the universe. Only God can do that. Do I make sense here, Christina? That would be the reason that "intelligent design is amusing," because the concept of "intelligent design" can only come from the intellect of Man. He cannot think outside the box and approach the intellect of God, therefore, Man can never know the design of the universe, which can only be a product of the intellect of God.
