Where does one's nature come from? Is it developed or is our nature there within us all awaiting the right nurturing to bloom?
It rain today. And yesterday.
Although I live in Washington, I do not live on the west side of the state so it does not rain here on a regular basis. Where I live it is considered a high steep desert; however, being an Arizona child I see nothing of the desert I love here. It is more like shrubs and tumbleweeds than a true desert, it lacks the cactus one thinks of when the word desert is invoked. I digress.
The rain drew out fat worms, 30 or so covered our driveway causing Charley to warn me to put the kids in the car BEFORE opening the garage because of the worms.
I have never been one to mind, so once I dropped the eight year old off at school (he would of been late otherwise) I brought the little ones home to rescue worms.
Every child ought to hold worms in the pouring rain and experience the thrill of them being set free in flower beds.
At least once.
I would expect YOU to go out and try to resuce the worms. Exactly as I have... We have this thing about honoring life, whatever form it takes.
ReplyDeleteAhhh. Taking a moment just embrace with the little ones are one of lifes greatest pleasures. We can think it is for them...but ya know I really think it is more for us.
ReplyDeleteIt is the little ones that is our tool for seeing even the smallest things in life....for what they really are.
I loved your entry! Loved it!
and the pictures...

My entry was about lessons for little ones also..
while nature plays a role, we really are all earth worms- the smart ones just do what they were born to do :).
