almost done...

First, when I said red...I meant red. I will post a "finished" picture too, but I just could not wait!!! It is so red. Really, really red but I love it.

It made the track housing cabinets look so much nicer, we don't live in a track home but in a little pocket of new semi-custom homes that were built in an OLD neighborhood. Most of the homes in the area are over 30 years old and then our block is less than two years old. It is weird in a Twilight Zone kinda way.

Boy my fridge looks tacky! But hey, I am keeping the magnets, I collect magnets.

Clean Sweep be dammed.

  1. Make a red felt cozy for the fridge and it'll be PERFECT.

  4. Looks great, darlin! The color really was needed to separate the two rooms, wasn't it? It really works! And about the fridge--get yourself some Magnetic Poetry. No kitchen is complete without it!

  6. Okay, girl, here's the refrigerator part of the "clean sweep" -- take all those magnets down (I know, I know, it breaks your heart...) and start some new poems...that's what you DO, isn't it??
    Love, P

P.S. Or I could send you my brand new set of Elvis dress-up mags--minus the new Elvis. I need him...but you could have his clothes.

  7. I collect magnets too... but when we bought our new house the fridge was wood!? So the magnets are retired... The we got a garage fridge for all the drinks and extra freezer storage and now we started again...
Love the red. I'll have to show you our color... I'm still waiting for the new furniture I ordered about 10 weks ago.

  8. Christina, the red is beautiful! Accent with buttercup yellow or Aztec Gold and a deep plumb color. Then toss in a little yellow orange and greens to complete the look. Chili Pepper red will also look beautiful as an accent color.

As for your magnets...simply place them in an overall design and they will work perfectly as a piece of kitchen art.

Great job on the painting sweetie, it looks fantastic!

    Love,

    Mom

  9. No! Under no circumstances remove the magnets! You will regret it forever if you do.
    That's certainly a brilliant red!
Oh, and a 'cozy' is one of those tacky little crocheted coverings that you put over tissue boxes and other such utilitarian items to disguise their true function.

  10. Okay, about the "remove the magnet" comment--I only meant take down the MAGNETIC POETRY magnets that you say you made a STORY out of--TEMPORARILY--and just PUT BACK UP some poems you create out of the words instead.

I in no way shape or form meant to imply there was anything wrong with you or your magnets per se.

    OKAY?

This is my new blogger comment, per your request, only I THINK I set it up so that there are no pictures with the comments I think I think here's hoping here's hoping here we go...

  14. Oh, I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!! Mmmmmmmmmmm yummy! Red is constantly battling blue to be my favorite color. I dream of having one red room and one blue room whenever I get my own home. When WILL that be? LOL Great job! xox
