By the Way....
It's Thursday and that means it's Weekend Assignment Day!!!!
Weekend Assignment #7: Share the vacation you most want to take -- but haven't taken yet. (Extra Credit: Show off some recent vacation photos.)
Africa
My parents first date was to the movie Born Free when it first came out...and although I was just a twinkle in their eyes at the time, I've somehow always been drawn to Africa. I loved the movie, the book and the theme song as a kid. I'd go around singing it (off key, because I am tone deaf) at the top of my lungs. Mom told me about their first date after I was grown up, I think it was always hard on her because my father is dead.
It would be unbelieviable to go on a mission to the deserts of Africa, see all the wild life and just do whatever possible to help. ~I hate spiders though. ~
Can you feel the pull of the Sarengetti.....can you hear the cry of the wild? To see a lion in the wild, the see an elephant herd on the loose, to get to know some natives....ah the dream still lives.
This would be the route....

I was THERE in 2001. It was everything you dream. The Ngorongoro, the Serengeti, much of Tanzania--wonderful. I will be writing about my travels in my journal, with pictures and all...You are more than welcome to read and dream. Anne http://journals.aol.com/Jadeawd/MutteringsandMusings

A mission to AFRICA? Do it. Life is short. I did have a brain tumor and now do missions. Haiti, MY SERENDIPITY turned into MY REVELATION. http://journals.aol.com/echoooo1/FridaysChallenge

I have to admit, I'm kind of a pussy about Africa. Rain forests=bugs, poisonous snakes, and other beings that are hazardous to one's health. I don't think I could ever get comfortable enough to enjoy myself! What a wimp, huh? Lisa :-]

yes! Africa is actually one of my dream places too. many different parts of it. i'd love to do a safari, just as you would. i chose the ONE place i HAVE to get to before i leave the planet for my entry (in The BiblioPhiles), but there are many more i long to see. the Amazon basin is another for me, i like the mysterious places, off the beaten track.

You know, out of all the places on this earth, Africa is probably the least desirable for me. I think it's because I like the Medittereanean and also the history that comes with Europe. ::::singing::: "Born Free" But, I vaguely remember the movie, and that it was great. :-) ---Robbie

Africa, such a fabled continent. Have you seen the movie or read the book Out of Africa? It'll make you fall in love with the place all over again. =P

I loved Born Free and did my share of singing it off key and loudly when I was a kid. Here's hoping you see the serengeti some day.

To a sunny, island, with good food, lots of drinks and my 'love'.
That would take care of me.

Won't have time to do this but if I had a dream vacation it would be to Paris or Italy. Have packing to do and last minute things to take care of. hugs, my precious friend. *Barb*

I dream in color, write poetry, talk about God, parent kids and finally wonder about it all
