John~ be careful what you ask for.....
Weekend Assignment #6: Tell us about your best friend in second grade (or the grade closest to that in which you remember having a "best friend"). Where is he or she now? Do you still keep in touch? (Extra credit: show any pictures of yourself from second grade.)
I just know that so many of you are fully expecting that I completely remember my second grade best friend but the truth is I don't. I do remember things about the time period but not my best friend and not even the school which, for an ultra geek, is pretty rare. I remember in the second grade my Mom and I lived in a trailer with another lady named Neval. {Na-vail} Here is the thing I truly remember....
Our "park" was in the great Valley of the Sun and on the outskirts of town (which is now ghetto) and being on the outskirts meant that there was a lot of farms around. I was very tall for my age, tall for a girl and most certainly taller than any of the boys. This meant I had much longer legs and knew I could out run any of them. Right beside our lots were fields of corn and anyone who has seen corn rows in their full glory knows that, to a bunch of kids, corn looks like a GREAT place to play.
And what prey tale did this nice little girl play?
Show me yours and I'll show you mine.
Don't think less of me~I was eight for pete's sake.
So I'd lure these unsuspecting, innocent little boys to the fields with promises of seeing my under pants, get them to show theirs first and then punch them. Then I'd RUN!!!! Straight home and locked the door laughing the whole darn time at how stupid boys were and how completely gross, I mean who puts fishing bait in their underpants anyway? YUCK!

Ohhh, you're a mean one, lol. But I guess being taller and faster than most boys your age, there isn't a better time. Great story!

ROFL!!! Fishing bait.... oy. You're a mess, woman. I don't remember much from 2nd grade either. 3rd grade, yeah... but I think 2nd grade must have been a bad year that I blocked out. LOL I don't even remember my 2nd grade teacher, except for her name, which was Mrs. Coochie. We all called her Coochie-Coochie-Coo. LOL Years later, I had a teacher named Cox. Coochie and Cox. What the heck??? LOL

I dream in color, write poetry, talk about God, parent kids and finally wonder about it all
