John, over at By The Way, has given us homework AND it is weekend homework to boot. It actually sounds like a lot of fun and promises to be good times...here's my list of 25:
1. When I was 3 or 4 I decided that all my dolls had been bad and the punishment for said transgressions was being sold. I stripped them naked, I needed their clothes for my NEW dolls, put them in my wagon and (after asking Mom how to write for sale on paper) pulled them to the end of my street to free them. I didn't sell any of them.
2. I was bald when I meet my husband.
3. I have a beagle named Peanut. A husband named Charley. A last name of Brown. I had the dog first.
4. Whenever I get to choose my birthday plans it almost always includes an art show or a museum trip.
5. I am an only child with 3 "Ex" step siblings, one of which I choose to keep (yes, you Tracey.) I had these siblings for the last half of my childhood.
6. I am the oldest of approximately 37 (lost count) grand children. My Grandma remembers me because I was her first. I was born on my father's father's birthday and have not ever been wished happy day by him. I send him cards for his...I don't think he remembers me and I was his first grandchild too.
7. I am now using my Great grandfather's cane. (I just got it back from storage.) He lived until he was 99. My grandmother's birth certificate lists his occupation as "boot-legger" and his current address as "county jail." I still carry a fifty cent piece he gave me, for drawing his bath, in my purse.
8. I write bad poetry, bad prose and want to be a writer for hire. I also want to go into the ministry.
9. I was a competitive ice skater for almost half my childhood. I was too "big chested"to think about the Olympics.
10. Many of the people I have loved the very most are dead.
11. I have been fired a lot. I am opinionated and that gets me into trouble....call it UN-coachable.
12. Some of my friends are people who I've meet on line and have never meet in person. I tend to remember their words best.
13. I was an Honors Debutante and 2nd runner up out of 80 girls. I was in Who's Who the same year.
14. I thought I knew everything at 19 and married poorly. I realized I knew nothing and married perfectly at 31.
15. I believe in God. (I know, some of you are surprised.)
16. I paint my toenails cobalt blue...have for years. Blue is the color of hope.
17. I read at an 11th grade level when I was in 6th grade. I can't spell at ALL and am bright enough to know a word is spelled wrong and lazy enough to think "oh well."
18. I wanted to be a Vet before I realized that sometimes things die.
19. I relate best to women who are 45 and older because I don't intimidate them...even in real life.
20. I use words like begrudgingly, behoove and contrived in my regular speech. It irritates the average person. I do it without thinking.
21. I have multiple sclerosis.
22. My husband is a Schwans man.
23. My mother is an artist.
24. I want, more than anything, to adopt an entire sibling group.
25. I use to be fluent in Spanish.

Cool list. I have a friend who uses words like you use in everyday life and I think it's hysterical. I'm usually the only one who knows what she means, however. You do not write bad poetry!

I went to your page and saw MS on the side and click on. My brother that is now 45 was told about 8 yrs. ago that he has MS. Very hard thing to watch and very hard on him to go through each day. He had to retired about 2 yrs. ago now sits home while wife works and plays games all day(he likes that part) It seems like a real hard illness to have.

Christina--adopt me as your sibling! I qualify on all counts: over 45, love poetry, and did heinous things to dolls as a child. I also thought I would be Sonja Heine when I grew up. that didn't work out, but not because of my chest size....
17. I read at an 11th grade level when I was in 6th grade. I can't spell at ALL and am bright enough to know a word is spelled wrong and lazy enough to think "oh well." ========>>>>>LOL!!!
You do not write BAD POETRY! I love your poetry, sister CK!

Christina, I remember the "Day Of The Dolls" so vividly and especially how insistant you were that they all had to go! What a great child you were! What an amazing adult you are! Thank you for using Grandfather's cane. I was so worried that I had lost it somewhere between Hawaii and Florida. Love, Mom
