My mother is an enigma.....a mystery to my soul that feels comforting and warm. She is the person I think of when I smell vanilla and brown sugar. She is the person I think of when I fold warm towels dried with bounce.....she is the very element of home to me.

Yesterday left its breath
slowly melting me
and today surprised
us both with the
kind glee neither one
has ever truly believed in
Fortunately for you
I closed the window
and ended the reign of
yesterday's storm
I dream in color, write poetry, talk about God, parent kids and finally wonder about it all

I love when mothers and daughters get alone so well. Love is such a gift in families.
The writing was beautiful too.

Your mother is blessed to have a daughter who loves her so much. Isn't it amazing what we think of or remember when we think of mother? When I think of mine I think of rocking chair, toast and coffee and lemon-meringue pie.
Happy Holidays, hon. *Barb*
