A long time to wait to turn in homework, read it here if you want.
Now that I am older, I do my homework faster, time is passing by you know? My voice is in blue, her voice is in black.
Here is what the Lady wanted to know:
I did not forget....and take your time with the answers...
Ready? Deep breath!
1. What is it about writing, for you, that engulfs you? Is there a certain satisfaction? A release? Or just the fact that your thoughts and words are then concrete?
Writing engulfs me not so much because of what I say but because of how it feels to get it OUT, to release the thoughts from my heart and give them room to breathe. Sometimes when my thoughts are put into words I find that they develop a truer color and a better flavor, sometimes I find that what was once bitter can be turned over and devoured from the other side, like a thick steak that is only burnt on one side. Words are freedom from the prison of turmoil.
I blog for the feedback, for the comments. Like a beggar on the streets seeking approval, I write because writing is my blood but comments are my sugar high. It is a community and a connection of humanity, the way to get to meet people that I would not otherwise ever meet simply because they live in other places. The Internet shrank the world.
2. Within the last year, what have you learned about yourself that you never thought of before? (edit this part....since becoming a mommy...I know its a tricky one but I think you can venture in this territory with some well written words...)
In the past year I have learned how to go days upon days without thinking of myself and not even noticed. I have learned that makeup is not entirely necessary when venturing out into the world and I have learned that life is funnier than I once thought it was. I use to believe I had a great sense of humor but now I realize that I did not know what funny was.
Funny is words used together in ways they are not meant to be. Funny is toothpaste "accidentally" spit on the mirror instead of in the sink because who knew that spitting is an acquired skill? Doesn't everyone know how to spit? Funny is letting someone leave the house in boots, striped shorts, plaid shirt and Dr. Seuss hat because well, because it was just too funny too not let it happen.
Funny is super glue on your tongue and in your hair.
Funny is gum IN your shoe.
Funny is a half gallon of ice cream put away under your bathroom sink, for later.
Funny is when your dolls misbehave and spend twenty minutes in time out.
Funny is a dog big enough to be ridden and well tempered enough to allow it.
In the past year I suppose I learned how to laugh, how to look the other way and how to love, I mean really love. Even when there was no way that love would ever be returned.
And I learned how to accept change and loss with grace and silence.
3. You are running for President, what would your platform be? What do you think your toughest hurdle would be?
Moi? Running for President? President of what? The crazy mommy club? Middle Aged MSrs of America Unite? Didn't they already have a TV show with a President with MS and then a another with a female? The public just isn't ready for someone like me to lead them. I mean really, it took my ten minutes to find my car keys yesterday when all I did was run in the house with a "few" bags of groceries, five little beings (babysitting, I CAN talk about babysitting, I think...) and bark out orders about impending baseball games that needed proper attire, snacks that needed packing and babies that needed changing. ~ !I did the changing thank you very much~! Anyway, in my usual, organized manner I lost my car keys.
Lost them.
Took ten minutes to uncover them on the bed. Imagine a mad dash retracing my steps with little echos of where did they go? What did you do with them? Where did you leave them? Why did you loose them? Are you sure they are not in your pockets? Here let me check for you. No, let me check. No, let me. And finally a last nooooooooooooo I wanna check the pocketsssssssss....!!!!!
Sure, make me president. Please oh please do not, I beseech of you, please do not give me the black suit case.
PS: my platform would be based on the song: I get by with a little help from my friends4. Give me 5 lines of your current thoughts in poetic prose....
brilliant sunshine splatters me
imprinting my soul with tiny hand prints
as night sneaks in with silent, eerie
dreadful and noisy humming
whispering words that only lawyers speak
5. What is the one abstract thought that carries you through daily?
The words we carelessly speak can change the course of someone else's life forever, so try to pay attention.
And if you want to keep it going...
Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
I will eventually respond by asking you five questions.
I get to pick the questions.
You will update your weblog with the answers to the questions.
You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Love your answers, especially since I understand each moment to moment in your home.
ReplyDeleteMissing you, missing the dolls in time out.
Love,
Tianka
Ahhhh lady I must say....these were the most perfect answers...You made me think, you made me giggle and you even touched my heart. Beautiful and thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove ya
Jodi
Wonderful questions and beautiful answers.
ReplyDeleteI'd vote for you for president. You'd do a lot less damage than the "Current Occupant."
