Arizona
another selection from my paper & ink journals
I live in the brillance
of the desert sun
in the silhouette of Phoenix.
Rising bird from
ash and death~
flying ever hopeful to 'morrow.
I've seen scorpions
mating in the wild
heard coyotes singing in
suburban hills
howling at nothing
and the moon.
I've seen rain sizzle
and tasted its youth.

No professor here. But, listen to your mother Christina. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You are talented! :-) ---Robbie

I was sitting on the floor painting the Palm Beach Mural and thinking about you... Christina, if you are afraid to write a book, just do what I do when I tackle something I've never done before...
I always remember that "The fear of the first step, is well worth the joy of the journey!" It is time for you to take that scary first step. Once you do, I know that you will truly enjoy the journey. I will be waiting to read your first draft and I'm sure that the English professors that read your journal will also be there for you. Am I right Professors? If I am, please let Christina know... Love, Mom

Well, well, my dear daughter... Now that everyone else has told you the same thing that I told you last Sunday, I would say that it is high time you sit your behind down and either: 1) Start writing a book 2) publish your poems. Or...3) Write a book that includes your poems.
You have a gift with words Christina, so why not share this special quality with the world? And please don't give me that worn out excuse that you don't have enough to write about yet, because I'm not buying it! I know that if I were to ask your friends for their opinion on this matter that they would agree with me, especially after keeping up with your journal.
Smile my beautiful daughter and know that I love you. Love, Mom

You should really publish a book of your poetry. It could even be a nice heirloom one day.
