An approaching anniversay.......
the saddness in my heart

As Jan. 26th approaches I am reminded that I have life pretty good in comparision to the loss being suffered by friends. Linda's son has not endured the last year well and refuses to even allow pictures of her in their home. He is trying to avoid his loss by denying her end. And ultimately the denial removes her beauty from their lives.......

"Rushing waves

Heavy clouds moving in

A wide beach

Sand pebbles

Too many to count

One lone seagull

With strength from the Spirit

Prepares to take flight. "

by Linda Schager (she wrote this poem for Charley & I attached to a beach photo she had taken. The poem embrassed her and the picture made her proud.)

so I repeat myself yet again:

Linda Schager

Monday

Monday still comes...
shall I save you a place?
Or will you no longer need
this ordinary day?

With your last breath
coming maybe tonight
many tears fall and hearts break.

Unborn grand children
are at your deathbed...
will you meet them in heaven
before they are born?

You have loved and been loved.

Your soul must be weary or
goodbye would have been harder.

Kiss God for me when you meet Him.
Will you save me a place?

Linda's daughter in law read my poem at her memorial tonight without crying. I am very honored but would have rather been there in Phoenix with them.

Each time I visit here I am uplifted by the reflection of the Lord's loving spirit within you. It is a privilige to visit, an honor to know you.

I came back and saw that Linda has passed away and wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Hugs, Karen

The mark of a good writer (to me) is that even the prose is poetic. After a search to find the kind person who bothered to comment in my poemblog, I have found a gift in your journal and in your exhaustive journal list. My heart goes out to you and your husband with your loss--but thankfully, you have these words and her loving memory for solace. and now, so do we.

Oh my that is both so lovely and so sad. I'm sorry for your loss. I saw your post in my journal and came to let you know there should be a response in your inbox. :-)

Oh Christina...I'm sorry to hear about your Linda. How hard it is to lose someone who has played such an important role in the lives of you and your husband.

However, I do want to say...you're a VERY talented writer.

Much Love to You,
bridgett

She is at rest now...so wonderful that she was so well-loved. I'm sure she knew, and took it with her. Lisa :-]

Thanks for stopping by my journal today. I haven't been to yours in a while, too long. My heart is breaking for people I don't even know really. I'm sorry your husband and you are losing someone so wonderful. :-( ----Robbie

I must go back to read about Linda and her family. I am so very sorry about her passing. Your poem to her was so touching and I am sure her family appreciated it more than words from them could express. Lisa

These are the kinds of anniversaries that everybody remembers but nobody celebrates. Lisa :-]
