Weekend assignment.....just in time for Halloween to boot!
Boo! It's time once again for the weekend assignment! I give you a topic, you write it up in your AOL Journal or blog, and then drop back a link in the comment thread. Anyone can do it -- but only the beautiful people do.
This week's Weekend Assignment is another reader suggestion, this time from isckwootton, and just in time for Halloween:
Write your own, preferably rhyming, epitaph. For example,
Here lies Jed,
He fell out of bed.
Extra credit: Write a cute epitaph for your favorite loved one, relative, or family pet. Suggestion: keep it light. You might want them to continue being your favorite loved one, relative, or family pet. Nothing is worse than having Fido dissing you over some silly words on a gravestone.
So into this one.....
Here lies the infamous urn of Mrs. Charley Brown
All that remains here is this marker of stone
She went against her Mum wishes ~ round and round
she won the fight was reduced to ash and bone
And for the extra credit:
Don't morn for this Beagle Peanut
Charley Brown didn't beat 'em
He died howlin' at the walls
and chasin' ole balls.
***************************************************
Boy what a silly homework assignment
had a good time and couldn't deny it.

Here lies Charley and Christina Brown
Who didn't burn because Mom was in town

Here lays the infamous Mrs. Christina Brown,
Who took her last breath while Mom was in town
Yes it is true she wants to end up in an Urn
But Mother dear knew her daughter would never burn
Now sweet Christina rests peacefully forever
Wrapped in pink Chantilly Lace buried 6 feet under
Next to her husband who objected to Mom’s decision
And lost the duel with unfortunate precision
On Sunday’s you’ll find Mom and Peanut sitting by her stone
With fresh flowers, loving hearts and pride few have known
Mom’s smile has been replaced with sadness and pain
For without her dear daughter, nothing is the same

Thanks for the comment on cooknuplife's Cafe of Life!!!
Here lies Momma (me)
She needed some rest
Couldn't keep her house clean,
but finally escaped the mess.
(LOL)

Hee hee... gotta love those Peanuts. What fun! Love the part about winning
the fight, but losing the war ... so to speak. Please feel welcome to pop on over
and read my efforts toward this silly assignment and drop a line of two.
Warmest regards.

I dream in color, write poetry, talk about God, parent kids and finally wonder about it all
