Grace is one of my all time favorite words ~ the embodiment of all that is good and rightous in life. The promise from God that we can learn to be holy if we humbly submit. And most of us rail against the concept of submitting. Submission is for the meely mouthed, weak spirited souls without backbone...at least that is the prevelant preaching from society.

It is grace alone that allows me to be an unbittered woman. It is divine interception that has healed my heart of its many wounds. Grace allows the peace to seep in an obvious way thru my life. This is not of my own doing because honestly there are times when I want to stomp my feet, scream "why me" and have a full on pity party and then, then His palm soothes my temper tantrum in an almost mystical way. I feel the peace of Holiness enter my soul and push against the pain.

I am not a Polly Anna; I have had a lion's share of pain and loss but it is grace that removes the bitterness and softens the edges of my traumas.

b : a virtue coming from God c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace

There are many ways to realize the presence of grace and I am thankful for that. I pray for it. I dream of it now like I use to dream of Santa. I long for it with the faith and hope that is promised.....the begining and the ending.

The promise is not:

I was

but

I am.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Poem interlude:
grace seeps from my pores
puddling on
the ground at my feet
overwhelming fear and
swimming tadpoles
litter my soul
His divine heat scares
even the fastest
baby frog
My favorite word too. Without it I'd not be where I am today. *Umerited pardon.* The God of the good times is the GOD of the bad times, always. HUGS. *Barb*
I love the word grace. I've never, ever used it gracefully in a poem (not for lack of trying!), but it is on my list of things to do.
And now of course I see that the tadpole/frog metaphor was not a leap from a picture prompt, as I surmised in Word Dancing, but a leap of faith.
You have both with such abundance it hardly seems possible. But then, that is the miracle that is Christina.
Excellent entry. The concept of grace is one that I've been mentally chewing on lately. It leaves me humble and grateful and more than a little goosepimply. It's a hard one to describe.
Submission is the most wonderful experience in the world when we stop fighting it.
Great entry!
Without grace, I doubt you could have endured all that you have. It's been a hard road for you...but you are travelling it well. Lisa :-]
