Occasionally the blankness of a fresh entry scares me.

Pounds my heart into submissiveness....a tight grip of fear seeps into my heart as I worry about what to say. What to say. I, as many of you can imagine, am rarely without something to say. Not to imply that I am a big talker, because I am not, but I have strong opinions about all sorts of things.

Charley, the gambling king, begged me into going to the Crazy Moose Casino again last night. We took his "single for the week" father with us and he (Dad in law) sat next to me all night trying to convert me.

Convert me?? You ask.....yep. See, David the retired Army Man, found out last night that I am a republican. Registered and everything.

He is trying to save my soul from damnation.

He tried his damnedest in the midst of a Casino....now that is conviction.

I think that I am his favorite daughter in law because he is forever telling me things he doesn't usually talk about. He tells me about Viet Nam. He tells me about Spam. He preaches to me about politics. Heck, he even told me about an e-mail he received that promised him $200,000.00 if he'd enter his credit card number on their form.

He is both a crack up and old fashioned. He told me tales about his family last night and how they thought his marriage to Charley's Mom wasn't going to work out. He has been married to "what's her face" for 29 years...and what is his only regret? That he did not legally adopt her kids. The youngest, my husband, is 31.

Now that is love.

PS: Yes the Moose watched me with his beady little eyes all night once more, he truly does not trust my type. (Republican, tight wad and an accountant.) Imagine that....the moose did try to lick Charley again though.

Hi, Christina... I know this has nothing to do with your entry, but can you PLEASE return one of my emails? Your daughter's birthday is creeping up...

Let me start off by saying that perhaps you should have been a writer. The way you write just captivates me. I love writing and reading and not many people captivate me with their writing as you have.

Also, my boyfriend of 4 years has symptoms of MS. His mother has MS and her doctor now wants my Scotty to get tested. I know I can't say that I know what you're going through or anything like that. But I can say that the very idea of my wonderful boyfriend having MS scares me, as I'm sure it scares him. Reading your entries makes me feel better, though. And I wish you the very best with whatever you do.

Very well-written. Keep it up!
I, too, have MS. I walk as if I've had a snoot-full. The reactions I get are funny.
I do my journal, write about politics for a local paper, tend to my garden, and tend to my wife.
Life is a bong!

ahhhhhhhh yes, the blank entry........I know the feeling. Usually I get inspired, tonights inspiration wasn't what I thought it would be, but it felt good to get it on paper......errrrr, computer ;-)
Good for you, you Registered Republican!
Fabulous article in the NY Post about the Dem convention
being a 'yadda-yadda of no substance' or something like that,
but it made me smile.

so did your entry.

I knew I loved you for something besides your brain when we met. Stick to your guns and don't let anyone change your mind about your political beliefs:)
