millions of tiny
cells converge in time and space
one green blade of snake
Yes, I entered this one in Poetry.com.
Now I have a question: I know that many of you have been "published" by Poetry.com in one of their hardbound book editions, I have too, but being a bit jaded prevented me from actually buying the one I am in. My burning question in they sent me an award for the same poem and are requesting permission to have it professionally read on a CD with 33 other poems and I want to know who else has had this happen to them? Should I be excited by this or remain jaded?? (There was an offer for me to buy said CD but not on the pre=printed little form since they say it is a rare invitation.)
This is the poem in question:
God's look
He can only be seen from the soul
recognized in primary colors
flavors of green and blue
He can be felt in cool rain
falling from billowy clouds
in Rembrandt's sky
His scent lingers in kitchens
of mothers who bake cookies and pies
of love, vanilla and sugar
His touch finds it's way to the breath
of kittens and puppies...nestled in fur
He sounds like small children singing
(Come and play, everything's A-OK)
Can't you hear Him?

Did you just add this "landscape?" I love it! Missed it before. . . or it wasn't there before. Hope your holiday was grand. And I do suspect that shot night will become a perverse comfort somewhere down the road... or that all of J-land will pitch in to make those pills from Scandinavia HAPPEN.

This is a beautiful poem...If you feel a little jade...you may be right-One would rather feel a number of the "Green" with a picture of Franklin on them! :)

I think it's a wonderful opportunity to share your inspiring work with others. My question is, they are making money off of people's work, are they offering you some type of compensation? I hope so.

I did Poetry.com once and they published my poem. I hate paying for those durn books though. Too expensive! Very nice! Cute little snake in the grass. :)

Well, Dear One, GOD IS GOOD and He does look out for all of us poor fools, doesn't he? A house will be good, you three deserve it. I will pray for you as the move is made. Will you still be close enough to Charley's folks that they can help you when you need them? Hope so, wish I could be there to help you too.
Easter is such a beautiful time of the year here in the South. I am going to Mississippi on Friday to see Daddy and my former in-laws and am really looking forward to the drive thru GA, ALA and MS as everything is blooming and being Reborn. That is what this time is all about, isn't it?
Love you my Friend and wish for you and yours a glorious Easter Day...

I don't know about the poetry.com deal, but my instincts tell me that those places do not have your best interests at heart (especially if they want you to buy this and that). I love your poem!

Wonderful poem, you do deserve an award for it. This is the first I am hearing of poetry.com so I can't help with your question. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us : )
