Mom's advice

{clearing my throat, inserting my tongue to my check}

See, I do not mean to say I told ya so, but I did.
Polite people do not talk about such things as money, religion and politics because it ruffles up the feathers.

Pisses off the help.

Pisses in the morning cereal.

Burns the toast.

Just plain makes others M.A.D.

Mean And Dirty.

I have voted for McCain, I have. Given the playing field I probably will not say whom my little Washington vote will go to this time, although the caucus thing and the super delegates in my state all have their own opinions.

The man I was thinking about dropped out. The reason I wanted him had nothing to do with his party and everything to do with his wife.

His wife has MS. Now I know that my MS has little or nothing to do with HER MS but it would have helped out some, I thought.

I was gonna vote for him because of her.

Shallow but true. And he is of my party and holds many of my values in check.

Anyway, I just like seeing history being made because I have always liked history and think it is kinda of neat to be part of it.....A black man and a white woman battling for the most prestige position in our country is unique. Not unreasonable, but unique. I knew it would happen at some point in my life and am thrilled that it has...and if one of them wins it will be sad because they will be a target, I am afraid. I do not know if the rest of the country is ready for that.

Bigotry and racism still abounds in our land. So many people struggle to see past skin color and skirts, let alone ideals and values.

Radical changes from the system?

Is it possible?

I do not want government health care, being a sick person. I want GOOD health care and my shots are terribly expensive. I do not know if the government would continue to provide them for me.

I hear tales about how they care for our veterans that make me shudder.

True tales?

Like I titled this piece, I think I will just stick with my Mom's advice and only break the religion rule from now on, at least I know a thing or two about God.

  1. I voted for Romney (he was still in during my state's primary). I agreed with his politics, and would have voted for him anyway, but Ann Romney was like a bonus. I couldn't help but wonder if there would be more priority put to MS research if he were in office...

  2. Yea... Good luck with the health care situation if certain people get in...

  3. The way things are going, Christina, you may soon have a choice between NO health care and government health care. EVERYONE should have access to health care. EVERYONE. Not just the people who can afford it. Or who can afford insurance policies that will pay for it.

  6. Christina,

John McCain may well be the best choice for the job even if I'd like to see H.C. have a chance despite all the things her husband did while in office. On a Global Level...McCain has my vote. I agree with you that Romney would have been a much better choice, not only because of his wife, but because of his belief system. On a purely superficial level, the guy is down right easy on the eyes...:)

Since passing the ripe old age of 29, my views about espressing your political views have changed. I think you should voice your opinions even if it upsets others. Doing so opens the doors of debate and when this happens, everyone walks away a bit more enlightened.
So type on dear daughter...I love reading your views on politics!
