New names, new lives

Our oldest boy has decided to change his first name, and has thought about long and hard. His 11 year old brother and his 7 year old brother are being adopted into a different, single parent home.

Michael called a month ago and asked Jonathan permission to change his first name to John because his new last name is going to be Jackson.

He did not want to face middle school with the name Michael Jackson and who could blame him? My son said sure, not a problem.

Then he thought and thought about it and it just did not set right on his heart so he made a list of several name he'd like to have. The first name has been vetoed on principal alone, Joncenia, after the WWW guy. The other names were all very grown up names and he let us pick the ones we most liked.

Andrew
Mathew
Matthew
Paul
Zachry
Zachery
Zachary

We both picked Zachary so that is going to be the name:

Zachary William Rice Brown

He wants to get his PhD in science so it is going to be Dr. Zachary Brown.

Big dreams for a nine year old...it is hard to just start calling a kid by a new name. He does not use nicknames either, so it won't be Zach, just Zachary.

Man, I was 13 before I started insisting on being called Christina instead of Chrissy.

  1. I love the name Zach.... Maybe he'll change his name to a nick name when a sweet young lady starts to call him Zach....

That was one of my boy names... We went with Dominic because of Joe's Grandfather's name... I always liked Daniel too....

What are the other's children's names?

    Thanks for visiting....
    miss ya,

  2. Zachary is a fine and distinquished name. I love the way it sounds with Brown. I also like the way you've given him the European 4 names.

I am so excited for all of you.

    Love,

    Mom
