to forgive

Perseverance climbs higher
on education's sofa, lingering cat like
upon the armrest comfortably, quietly boasting

authoritatively giving dissertation on life
wisdom trickles downs between

the rough words and settles
plumply, resistantly on honest conviction

Today I decide to bury boastfulness in the backyard
with the dog ~ quickly, before true salvation
eclipses the coming glory, burning my eyes

with the claws of not forgiving

And later:

the balm of forgiveness burns, softly glowing of love
flowing swiftly over the edges of wrongdoing

I see the deed

dangling

swishing

by the tenuous strings of webbed memory

within the stickiness
lives a hairy, beady-eyed creature

seeing in prisms, multi-legs dance
awaiting my carelessness

begging

anticipating

bitterness, roots, traps laid carefully within
boundaries of the liars web, and it

breathes, deeply

my stubborn choice. Slowly I reach out
petting my fears with open palms, setting
loose anything caught by your forgiveness

and find I am truly free.

  3. Sweetie, I love this poem! It may well be one of your very best! I also love the new photographs you've posted, they are fantastic!

I had to laugh at the visual of someone calling you a grandma!

And honey its not that I have a hard time dealing with being a grandma, it's just that the title Grandma Gerkin sounds like my 84 year old Grandmother whom was called the same before she passed away. Please call me Grandma T instead, or Fra'pa. I want to be called something that has a fun sound to it and lacks sounding so darn old.

I love you so much and I miss you terribly!

  4. Hi,
Glad to see you are back to the keys... But sorry to hear about your wrist. Joe fell over a year ago playing roller hockey with Dominic and put his hands down to protect his fall. He really hurt his left wrist badly (fractured bone). He has the same splint you have but his was custom made and cost $400.00... Did not do much for he rarely wore it since it seemed to hurt more wearing it... He is still having weakness, they told him because of his age... it will take very long to heal because the little bones in the wrist (triquetral...the little bone on the most outer point of your wrist bone) have very little blood flow which slows down the healing process.
    Hope you heal quickly.
    Miss you,
    Lori
